Q: What is the price of a
multi-user-licence?
A: When ordering online, you can choose the
number of users. The exact price is shown on the next
page. For licenses larger than 250 users, please contact
us by email.
Q: How do I
calculate the number of licences I need?
A: Total Commander licences are floating
licences, also called "concurrent use": At a
given time, for each purchased licence, one person may
work with Total Commander on any number of computers,
even simultaneously. If, for example, 10 employees run
Total Commander on 20 computers (PC/laptop) at the same
time, a 10-user licence is needed. An accurate detection
is not necessary. Just estimate the maximum number of
people using Total Commander at the same time (it's OK if
this gets exceed for a short period of time).
Q: What's the price of an
update from an older to the current version?
A: As soon as you are registered, (until further
notice) all updates are free, provided that you get the
latest version yourself by downloading it. This has been
the case since version 1.0. Just install the new
(Shareware) version over the old one. The only important
thing is to keep the file wincmd.key.
Q: Can we
resell Total Commander to a customer of us?
A: This is possible, but please note the
following points:
1. Order online (2Checkout.com)
via gift / reseller and enter your address (delivery and
billing address) and the address of the customer (for the
registration key).
2. Unfortunately we cannot offer a special reseller
discount, because our prices were calculated for the
end-user. You must bill your customer for your expenses..
Q: Can we pay by COD?
A: We do NOT deliver by COD! Please use one of
the following payment methods:

Q: Can we order by
e-mail?
A: No, unfortunately not. Please order online
via 2Checkout.com
Q: Could
you inform us by e-mail about new versions?
A: Total Commander 9 supports an optional
automatic update notification. This determines once a day
via the Internet name resolution (Domain Name System,
DNS) whether a new version is available. If so, a
corresponding message is displayed and you are offered to
switch to the newsletter page. The update is NOT
installed automatically, but can be downloaded and
installed manually.
You can activate the automatic notification as follows:
1. Open the "Help" menu on the far right of the
menu bar.
2. Select "Check for updates now".
3. If Total Commander is up to date, you are offered to
activate the automatic update search. Choose
"Yes".
You can deactivate the automatic notification again with
the same 3 steps.
Important NOTE:
If you activate the automatic update search while you are
using a pre-release (beta version) of Total Commander,
you will also be informed about updates to beta versions.
Otherwise you will only receive messages about release
versions.
You can also activate the update messages manually. To do
this, add the following line to the Wincmd.ini file under
the [Configuration] heading:
AutoUpdateCheck = 2
or.
AutoUpdateCheck = 1
if you also want to be informed about pre-release
versions.
You can edit the wincmd.ini via Configure - "Change
settings files directly".
Q: We already have a
site-licence (multi-user-licence) of Total Commander and
would like to order additional licences. Is this possible
and how much does it cost?
A: You can upgrade an existing license at any
time: The price is the difference between the price of
the multi-user-license after the upgrade and the price of
the existing license.
Important: DO NOT order a new license, but please contact
us in advance by email stating your original registration
number. You can find the number in the "Help" -
"About Total Commander" menu in the program
itself or (if available) on the original disk / CD and
the license letter. We will then send you detailed
instructions on how to order additional licenses online.
This is imperative - if you order a new
multi-user-license, a separate multi-user-license will be
created. Subsequent merging is not possible.
Q: Do you
offer an unlimited site licence?
A: No. There is no licence for an unlimited
number of users. The normal single- and multi-user
licences are valid for an unlimited amount of time,
though.
Q: Is there any discount
for students or pupils?
A: Yes. The following conditions apply: The
license must be in the name of the student. Please send
us a photo (e.g. with your smartphone, max.500kByte JPG)
of the certificate of study or ID (if permitted in your
country) by email to receive a discount code. Sensitive
data such as photo, date of birth or similar you may
cover. It is important that the name and the current year
can be seen.
Q: Is it possible to
register to an imaginary name?
A: As licence name we can only accept full names
of individuals or companies / institutions. If we receive
a strange or insufficient name, we reserve the right to
decline or change it.
